Katie Good

Biography

Katie Good is co-head of Potter Anderson’s bankruptcy team.  She focuses her practice on corporate restructuring, distressed situations, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights.  She regularly represents distressed companies in both in- and out-of-court restructurings as well as advising secured lenders, asset purchasers, committees, liquidation trusts and other parties in chapter 11 cases and other distressed transactions, as well as foreign representatives and other parties in chapter 15 and other cross-border proceedings.  In addition, Katie has experience advising independent special committees conducting investigations inside and outside of chapter 11 cases.  She also routinely litigates in bankruptcy court as well as in federal district courts and courts of appeals.  Katie has substantial experience preparing opinions for structured finance transactions.

Bringing almost 20 years of experience to the table, Katie is able to pair her extensive legal knowledge in bankruptcy, commercial law and Delaware corporate law with practical experience to provide her clients effective and efficient guidance.  For distressed companies, that means finding creative solutions to maximize and preserve value and deleverage balance sheets.  For creditor constituents, it can involve leveraging legal arguments towards creative settlements that maximize returns.  She has represented clients in across a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, health care, technology, energy, retail, and manufacturing.  Recently contacts have reported to Chambers USA that “She is very knowledgeable in the restructuring world.  She has a no-nonsense approach and can handle anything thrown at her with ease,” and “She was fully engaged and provided creative ideas in a complex matter.”  She is highlighted by sources as “very astute politically and technically, and also knowledgeable about Delaware goings on.”
