Steele Receives First State Distinguished Service Award
On September 30, the Delaware State Bar Association recognized Myron T. Steele with the organization’s First State Distinguished Service Award.
Established in 1979, this recognition is “awarded to a member of the Delaware Bar who, by exemplary leadership and service dedicated to the cause of good citizenship in civic and humanitarian service over a period of many years, has maintained the integrity and honored recognition of the legal profession in community affairs and who, as an outstanding Delawarean, unceasingly advances the ideals of citizen participation and community accomplishment, thus reflecting high honor on both country and profession.”
Steele is the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware. Previously, he served as a Judge of the Superior Court and a Vice Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery after 18 years in private litigation practice. He has presided over major corporate litigation and LLC and limited partner governance disputes, and he writes frequently on issues of corporate document interpretation and corporate governance.
This is the third time in recent years that a Potter Anderson lawyer has received the award; past recipients include Josh Martin in 2013 and Charlie McDowell in 2016.
