Potter Anderson Advises UnitedHealth’s Optum in $1.3 Billion Acquisition of Advisory Board
Optum, the information and technology-enabled health services division of UnitedHealth Group, has agreed to acquire The Advisory Board Company’s health care business for an estimated $1.3 billion.
The Potter Anderson team serving as Delaware counsel on the transaction was led by partners Michael Tumas and Roxanne Houtman and associate David DiDonato.
News of the deal was covered by The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg and other major media outlets.
This is the latest in a series of high-profile transactions by UnitedHealth, including its $2.3 billion acquisition of Surgical Care Affiliates on which Potter Anderson also served as Delaware counsel.
