McDonough Elected to Hagley Museum and Library Board of Trustees

Kathleen Furey McDonough, chair of Potter Anderson’s Executive Committee, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Hagley Museum and Library.

McDonough, the first woman to lead a major Delaware law firm, is widely regarded among the state’s top labor and employment lawyers. Her practice focuses on litigation in the federal and state courts in Delaware as well as counseling management clients on labor and employment, trade secret and education law issues. She is regularly called upon to conduct high-level corporate investigations. She is a former Chair of the U.S. District Court Advisory Committee and a former member of the Delaware Supreme Court Board of Professional Responsibility.

For over 30 years, McDonough has served as a board member of a number of Delaware non-profits serving the needs of the community. She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Delaware Community Foundation and Christiana Care Health System, where she chairs Christiana Care’s Executive Compensation and Succession Planning Committee.

Her leadership in the legal community has been recognized with the Delaware State Bar Association’s Community Service Award, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Compass Award and the Caleb R. Layton, III Service Award from the judges of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware in recognition of her service to the Court and the Bar of the Court.
