William Denny Earns CIPP/US Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals
Potter Anderson partner, William Denny, successfully completed his certification exam as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US). The exam is the gold standard for privacy professionals whereby practitioners gain a foundational understanding of broad global concepts of privacy and data protection law and practice, including: jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models; essential privacy concepts and principals; legal requirements for handling and transferring data and more.
Bill practices primarily in the areas of cybersecurity, data privacy and information governance. He has represented both public and privately held companies in a wide range of technology and intellectual property-related transactions, including counseling clients on compliance with cybersecurity laws, development of data security policies, contracting with cloud service providers, outsourcing of IT services, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, software development, sales of internet domain names, and website terms of use and privacy policies. Clients include major licensees of information technology as well as internet service providers, software developers and system integration service providers.
