Potter Anderson Sponsors, Davey and Davis Present at BYU 2020 Winter Deals Conference
Potter Anderson is proud to be a sponsor of BYU Law School’s 2020 Winter Deals Conference to be held in Park City, Utah, on March 5-6.
Our lawyers were involved in several aspects of the conference, which brings together leading scholars and practitioners to present state-of-the-art research on the legal institutions supporting contemporary markets:
- Partners Brad Davey and Matthew Davis participated in a panel about developments in Delaware law.
- Davis moderated a panel on Scope of Corporate Purpose.
- Davey moderated a panel on Corporate Law and Governance.
- Davey and Davis met with BYU Law students to discuss practicing law in Delaware.
Davey focuses primarily on business, corporate and alternative entities litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery. He frequently advises directors, acquirers and financial advisors in connection with mergers and acquisition litigation. In addition, he has substantial experience litigating and providing advice regarding various proceedings under the Delaware General Corporation Law, including appraisal, advancement and indemnification, books and records demands, and director election contests.
Davis focuses his practice on business and corporate litigation in the Court of Chancery, where he litigates complex and often expedited matters. His experience includes litigation of breach of fiduciary duty actions, contests for corporate control, breach of contract claims, and statutory proceedings brought pursuant to Delaware’s General Corporation Law. Prior to practicing law, he was a tax consultant with Ernst & Young.
