8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Seminar
Over the last two years, Covid-19 has gone from being a public health emergency that has impacted virtually every facet of our lives to a fact of life. As we adjust to the “new normal,” now is a good time for employers to take a fresh look at their workplaces through a refocused lens.
Please join Potter Anderson attorneys, Jennifer Brady, Kathleen McDonough, Jen Buckley, and Clarissa Chenoweth-Shook for an in-depth review of some of the most significant labor and employment law developments impacting employers today.
Paid Leave Law in Delaware
Clarissa Chenoweth-Shook will give an overview of what employers can expect once Delaware’s paid family and medical leave program takes effect. Read our client alert for more information.
Litigation Holds – An Employer’s Obligation to Preserve Information
Employers have a duty to preserve information that is potentially relevant to anticipated or existing legal claims or litigation, and failure to comply with that duty can have dire consequences. Issuing a litigation hold notice should be at the top of every employer’s to-do list once it receives notice of a threatened claim or the initiation of a lawsuit, an administrative charge, an agency investigation or any other claim or action. Jen Buckley will discuss best practices regarding document and data identification and preservation.
What’s New? What Needs a Refresh?
Kathleen McDonough will moderate a conversation with panelists Jennifer Brady, Jen Buckley and Clarissa Chenoweth-Shook as they discuss issues that should be on every employer’s radar screen as Covid-19 exigencies subside:
- Employee training, including DEI, sexual harassment, and information security
- Workplace stress and employee accommodations
- Handbook and policy reviews – compliance, inclusiveness, and best practices
- Exempt / non-exempt status and independent contractor challenges
