Denny and Kelly Weigh in on Blockchain Technology and Smart Contracts
Partners Bill Denny and Chris Kelly participated in the Delaware State Bar Association’s “Blockchain Technology and Smart Contracts for Business Lawyers” CLE program on April 11. Panelists defined key terminology, described use cases for blockchain in M&A, corporate governance and commercial law, and introduced other uses such as smart cities, connected vehicles and equipment rentals. The program covered what to expect when litigating blockchain and smart contract disputes and provided legal updates on issues of security, privacy, jurisdiction and liability.
Denny is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He practices primarily in the areas of cybersecurity, data privacy and information governance.
Kelly focuses his practice on complex litigation and counseling matters involving Delaware corporations and alternative entities. He is a frequent speaker and author on emerging legal issues arising from the use of blockchain technology.
The program was sponsored by the DSBA’s E-Discovery and Technology Law Section. For more information, visit the DSBA’s website.
