Chapman and Martin Offer Guidance on Mediating Civil Cases in Delaware Superior Court
Potter Anderson senior counsel and former Delaware judges Bill Chapman and Josh Martin provided guidance on mediating civil cases at the Delaware Superior Court Mediation Training Sessions.
Both Chapman and Martin served as mentors during breakout sessions that explore the roles of plaintiff, defendant and mediator. Martin will also participate in a panel discussion on best practices in Superior Court mediation.
Chapman is the firm's chief diversity officer and director of pro bono services. He leads the firm's diversity and inclusion initiatives while spearheading the firm's pro bono program and commitment to community outreach, including mentoring associates in connection with these programs. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Family Court judge for the state of Delaware. He also served as Deputy Attorney General for the Delaware Department of Justice.
Martin concentrates his law practice on mediation and arbitration and on business counseling. Prior to joining the firm, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Delaware where he was responsible for all aspects of its telecommunications business within the state of Delaware, including regulatory, financial and operational matters. Before joining Verizon’s predecessor, he was a Delaware Superior Court Judge for eight years.
