Public Finance Potter Anderson & Corroon's Public Finance practice is substantial and varied. The attorneys who practice in the group have extensive experience representing and advising issuers, underwriters and borrowers in connection with various new money, current refunding and advance refunding financings. The financing structures include fixed, variable and auction rate bond financings with bond insurance, letters of credit, and other credit enhancement, leases, lines of credit, certificates of participation, bond anticipation notes, and derivative products such as interest rate hedges and swaps. In addition, Potter Anderson & Corroon represents its clients before the Internal Revenue Service in connection with bond audits.
Our clients in this area are governmental, quasi-governmental and private entities, including nonprofit organizations organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that are eligible for tax-exempt financing. The Public Finance group has structured, documented, negotiated and closed general obligation, revenue (governmental and conduit), educational, economic development, health care, housing, solid waste, transportation, and utility financing transactions.
Potter Anderson & Corroon has served as bond counsel or underwriter's counsel on transactions for the State of Delaware, all of the State's bond issuing authorities, all three Delaware counties, and all major municipalities in the State, as well as the Delaware River and Bay Authority and the Delaware Health Facilities Authority. Potter Anderson & Corroon's clients for its services as a national and regional underwriter include Merrill Lynch, Salomon Smith Barney, George K. Baum, Bear Stearns, Banc One, First Albany, and Janney Montgomery.
