Potter Anderson & Corroon Serves as Delaware Counsel in $148 Million Acquisition of Barrier Therapeutics

Potter Anderson & Corroon is serving as Delaware counsel to Barrier Therapeutics in its acquisition by Stiefel Laboratories. The $148 million transaction is composed of a tender offer followed by a merger of Barrier Therapeutics into a wholly-owed subsidiary of Stiefel.  The deal is expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2008.

Michael Tumas, a partner with Potter Anderson and head of its corporate practice, is working with co-counsel Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP on the deal.  Based in Princeton, New Jersey, Barrier Therapeutics is a pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of products in the field of dermatology and currently markets three pharmaceutical products with other product candidates in various stages of development.
