Potter Anderson Serves as Delaware Counsel for Georgia Gulf Corp.

Potter Anderson is representing Georgia Gulf Corp. in an action initiated by the company in the Delaware Court of Chancery against New York hedge fund Sandelman Partners LP.  Georgia Gulf is asking the court to rule that it has not defaulted on some $100 million in corporate debt, as Sandelman has claimed.

In court filings, Georgia Gulf said that it could be forced to file for bankruptcy protection unless the dispute is resolved in its favor on an accelerated basis  Vice Chancellor Stephen P. Lamb has  scheduled an expedited  trial to begin on July 21, 2008.

An Atlanta-based company, Georgia Gulf manufactures polyvinyl-chloride products used in the construction, housing and pharmaceutical industries.
